Can you out run a Tornado?

You may think we’ve been a little quiet lately, but there’s a storm rolling in and it’s just in time for the 2014 ACT Gridiron season that kicks off on Saturday 23 August at Greenway Oval. From a new website to community sponsors, a television commercial and now a radio interview on 2XX FM…we’re definitely making it hard for you to out run the Tornadoes this year.

So turn up the volume and check it out below…

Some ‘Tiny’ news for the Tornadoes

As a grassroots gridiron club, and one of the oldest in the ACT league, we’ve learnt that it’s not always about the building support for the team but how we can also support those in the community.

Earlier this week Tiny’s Green Shed and the Tuggeranong Tornadoes embarked on a community partnership that will help the two strengthen their profiles in the nation’s capital.

To kick it off, the ‘nadoes boys took to the tip at Mugga Lane and cooked up a storm with a fundraising barbecue.

Offering the public an alternative to getting rid of their unwanted items, as opposed to just dumping them in landfill, The Green Shed is contracted by the ACT Governments with two locations – Mugga Lane, Symonston or Flemington Road, Mitchell.

Not only is this a rewarding partnership for both The Green Shed and the Tornadoes, but also an environmentally conscious one.

Recruiting for 2014!

The Tuggeranong Tornadoes are gearing up for the 2014 ACT Gridiron season with the men and junior teams currently recruiting. Taking second place behind the Central Spears in what was a great comeback for the Club last year, the Tornadoes are determined to come back stronger than ever under the leadership of Head Coach Cody Field and Offensive Coach Brad Aberdeen in the hope of reclaiming the Capital Bowl trophy.

The Junior Mixed team is focused on training for the start of their 2014 season with the first kickoff  just months away.  There is still plenty of time for both girls and boys (aged 14-18 years) to sign up. Register your interest here!

Gridiron is a sport for all, big or small, there is a role for you. The Club will even kit you out, just bring boots and a mouth-guard. If you are interested in playing, coaching or assisting with either of the 2014 teams, now is the time to get on board!

Come and play for a club that has 20+ years of success.

No experience? No problem! You will be taught by some of the best coaching staff around!
